How I got here...
On Friday the 13th of May, 2016...
I received the most devastating news of my life.
I was diagnosed with stage 2A invasive ductal carcinoma. Breast cancer that was starting to spread.
The very next day I walked the Race for the Cure as a one day survivor, in total shock. But I vowed I would come back and run the next RFTC. Run. I hadn’t really run in 30 years, only a mile a few tortuous times.
And that’s what I did one year later. (I Just ran my fifth 5K on August 9, 2021 and have competed in 2 powerlifting virtual meets, taking 2nd and 1st place.)
Fours years later, on May 13th, 2020... After many months of focus and intense study... I took and crushed my exam to become a Certified Personal Trainer.
Six months later, on Friday the 13th of November, I took and aced my Certified Nutritionist exam. I now hold four ISSA Fitness Certifications, designating me as an Elite Trainer.
I don’t believe in luck. Good or bad. The harder you work, the luckier you get.
I’m very blessed and fortunate and I don’t take one second for granted. I have GRATITUDE tatted on my forearm. I know some women (and men) have not had the good fortune to have the amazing outcome I’ve had.
So I spend every day with a grateful heart, and I live my best life. I pursue life passionately and chase my dreams and work my ass off to do things that some people will never have the opportunity to do. Because I can. I’m alive. And life is precious. Health is wealth. And I’m the richest girl I know.
Here’s to overcoming obstacles and conquering adversity and and outworking your obstacles!
